A New Venture

I had recently attended a workshop where I was taught how to blog. At first, my mother had pushed me to attend the workshop, to get me out of the house and do something other than just stay at home, but now I feel really glad that I agreed because I now know something completely different.

We were a group of 7 people and our teacher was a very well established woman. She is very well renowned and generated my interest to write. She motivated each and every one of us and encouraged us to write, she encouraged us to start our own blogs and that’s how I have one today. It was a 3-day workshop and was filled with a lot of fun and learning. Our teacher was extremely patient and answered all our queries efficiently. She taught us all there is to know about blogging and made me realize that something like this is also something that I would really enjoy to do in the future. She gave us cyber-safety tips, helped us edit our blogs, and gave us ideas how to make them look more interesting and attractive. It was a good way for me to practice and improve my English as well. Now I feel much more confident in writing and publishing my works. She assured us that we would get better with time and also taught us how we could make a living out of this in the future. I feel very free while I’m writing and I will continue to write every time inspiration strikes. The teacher told us how a fan following is not supposed to be our main concern, rather writing from the heart is far more important and is the basis on which people will actually enjoy reading our blogs.

This workshop has definitely helped me in improving my people and communication skills. I hope such a workshop happens again so that I have an opportunity to learn many such new things. This workshop has been extremely memorable as well as educational. I am extremely grateful to my teacher who taught all of us such wonderful things about blogging.

Mortal Instruments-You Won’t Put The Books Down

The Mortal Instruments written by Cassandra Clare will probably have to be one of my favorite books yet. There are 6 books in total, in order-

  1. City of Bones
  2. City of Ashes
  3. City of Glass
  4. City of Fallen Angels
  5. City of Lost Souls
  6. City of Heavenly Fire

This Young Adult, Fantasy series is very difficult to put down. It’s filled with ups and downs, and love and friendship and will definitely fill you with awe. It depicts Shadowhunters, part-angels, and takes us into their complex world. The story has all the magical creatureswerewolves, vampires, faeries, demons, warlocks, practically everything you can imagine. If you’re a fan of fantasy, then this book is highly recommended by me. It is extremely thrilling and full of adventure and will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. These series also have movies and a TV-show based on them. For anyone who doesn’t like to read a lot can watch those but for all you bookworms out there, this is a must for your “Books To Read” list. The story revolves around Clary Fray, a girl who accidently stumbles upon something that she shouldn’t have and soon secrets unravel, and she realizes that her world has been a lie. She, along with her best friend, Simon is taken on a journey that is filled with a lot of hardships as well as fun.

These books created a lot of thrill in my life and I had anxiously waited for each book to come. Cassandra Clare has written several other series, based on Shadowhunters, each series linked to each other. The Infernal Devices, Dark Artifices are some of her other amazing books. I assure you this one thing, once you’re sucked into this world, you’ll never want to come out of it.

Mulan-Disney Is Not About Knight In Shining Armours

I had recently watched Mulan, the extremely old Disney film, set in ancient China. I think it was one of the best Disney movies I’ve ever seen.

The movie showed the olden ways where one man from each family had to volunteer to fight in the war. Mulan was the daughter of an injured veteran and did not fit into the society’s version of a woman. She desperately wanted to do her father proud but after being rejected by the society, she decided to take his place in the war. She posed as a man and went to the training camps. The movie beautifully depicted how she trained and worked hard to be as strong as the men. This movie portrayed all of Disney’s usual humour, animal sidekicks, love, but most of all it portrayed a strong female lead. The movie opens the eyes of the chauvinistic men and shows how a woman is not inferior. It fills you with a lot of motivation to achieve your goals and fight for your respect in the world. The movie makes you understand that a woman is an independent individual and doesn’t need a man to protect or provide for her.

This movie definitely brings out your inner feminist and I highly recommend watching it. Its for children and adults alike and there is no scene in the movie where you would feel as if you’re watching a clique Disney movie. The movie will definitely fill you with determination and push you to persevere in life to achieve what you want and stand up for yourself and know that being a girl is doesn’t automatically mean that you’re weak.

A Strange Encounter

The trees swayed in the wind and a flash of lightening lit up the forest. Suddenly in a pool of light, a strange creature appeared and said, ‘Help me’.

Fascinated I ran towards it. It had a mechanic voice and upon further inspection I realized that it was human lookalike robot. It looked like a man of 23 years and said that it had strayed away from the Artificial Intelligence lab outside the forest and was desperately running out of battery. It was the top-secret peace treaty alliance with Japan to end the World War III. Its presence could make or break the war. I was awestruck by the machine standing infront of me and couldn’t believe it was the legendary Human2.0 robot who’s news was being rumored. All of a sudden, we could hear the buzzing of a helicopter and like a string was attached to its feet, the robot sprang up and started running towards the sound. It seemed that there was a magnetic current in the air that was pulling it. Confused I ran behind him and suddenly felt a barrier all around me. I realized that the magnetic barrier was not letting me pass through. I shouted at the robot but it paid no heed to me and continuously ran towards the helicopter.

Then suddenly, the wind started howling and there were tremors across the earth. I felt myself falling deeper and deeper into a black hole. My mouth was opened in a silent scream and I could do nothing but fall. The next time I opened my eyes, I saw myself right where I initially was but the robot was nowhere to be seen.
